Re: (:-(
Thu, February 28, 2008 - 8:17 AMWhat does it matter that it was human hair? It's not as if he went out and scalped people for it. If he'd used fur or horsehair, no one would have even raised an eyebrow.
I agree with the overall sentiment though. Even though I guessed who they were going to choose, I'm still not happy about it.

Re: (:-(
Thu, February 28, 2008 - 8:23 AMThe hair looked cool though.
I thought Rami's best was the one he showed Tim...with the cape. I am surprised he didn't choose that as one of the three looks to present.

Re: (:-(
Thu, February 28, 2008 - 8:30 AMPoor Chris. He so deserved to go to Fashion Week. I didn't think his designes were too costumey, not compared to some of the stuff I've seen come down the catwalk. Scary! But, I have to give Rami credit, his stuff was really good, he defiinitely proved he can do more than drape. Although that coat was just stupid. -

Re: (:-(
Thu, February 28, 2008 - 8:42 AMThe coat really was terrible. From what we saw yesterday, it seems as though Jillian really has some awesome pieces. -

Re: (:-(
Thu, February 28, 2008 - 10:53 AMbut 80% of Rami's pieces STILL have the drape, from jackets to pants to dreses.

Re: (:-(
Thu, February 28, 2008 - 12:45 PMThe only thing about Jillian's pieces that bother me is that she keeps replicating that high collared jacket. Maybe if she varied the design, it was cool once but I'm irritated now. Christian too, he's fun to watch but he just made the SAME stuff he's been making (which actually look like period costume pieces), I want to see him be creative since he brags about being a master quick sewer. That's like being a fast typer who can't write. =;P They all have subtle similar color palets too. And while Rami annoyed me with his stuff as well, he at least had pops of color, I just hated the jacket too. THAT looked like a costume, Time needs to smack him. I actually think the human hair was creative b'cuz if it was animal fur, he'd get crap about it. And synthetic doesn't lay the same way, I liked that he was inventive especially with the black skirt. I really think he deserved to be chosen over Rami. The man has already gotten exposure on his own, I don't think he even needed project runway to boost his career. Does anybody know where to see the rest of Chris's collection even though it won't be shown on Bravo? Season one is still the best show in my opinion. Jay and Kara Saun were amazing. =:D -

Re: (:-(
Fri, February 29, 2008 - 11:42 AMI was sad to see Chris go too - I actually loved the look of the hair as it moved - and what about the safety-pin skirt too? Very cool... If he had been able to pull it off with the full-length dress, I think he would have been in - but, ugh, Rami's jacket? I'm with ya'll here (maybe it is his version of the Jillian one she keeps repeating). I really want to see the feather pants or whatever it was that Christian made - see what Nina and Tim think then about Chris' stuff -

Re: (:-(
Tue, March 4, 2008 - 1:27 PMI figured it would be Rami, but it was really a toss-up. They both had + and - to their three pieces. I think Chris should've just shown the jacket with the hair trim and not the skirt as well, that kind of overdid it for the judges I think. And although the long dress was nice, it was hard for the model to walk in, which is not good for runway presentation.
I saw Nina Garcia at two shows last week. I saw her at the Giambattista Valli show (who's going to be the "next big thing" I think) and she was actually paying attention to the clothes as they went by, which most of the major fashion magazine editors don't do. They sit there and look at their Blackberries or make sure their nails look nice, but Nina was actually looking at stuff as it went by her. Then I got a photo taken with her after the McQueen show and I just have to say that she is really nice. She was on a call and she actually put them on hold for a few seconds while the picture was taken. She looks much better in person than on PR, not to say that she looks busted on PR, but you know what I mean. She complimented me on the coat I was wearing and when I axed her if Christian wins she smiled and said that she couldn't tell me.
Then when we were leaving, Kevin was on the same flight back to NY. As we passed by him in the security line I said "Hey, I saw you on Project Runway and I thought you did a good job" and he smiled and said thanks and then turned around I think out of embarrassment. Or at least I hope it was for that and not because of ego. He was with his girlfriend and she's really pretty.
Oh, and I axed some people at McQueen if they knew about Christian being on PR since he used to work for McQueen, and apparently he did work for McQueen, but it was as an intern and they go through interns so fast so he was probably there for two months at the most before the turnover. -
