Season 4 - Episode 1

No surprise here.
That stupid tank dress was so ugly, and with that hideous cover up...man. She had to go.

And the blue dress with the retarded train? Come on. I understand the theory, but the execution was really bad.

I like the orange dress with the bubble skirt. I also thought the weird plaid jacket was made well, just an ugly fabric.

Funny how they were all proud that they were working with "$50,000 worth of fabric from MOOD" and a lot of the fabric was quite unsightly.

I can already tell that there are several people that are going to bug me. Earth girl with the horrible blue dress....ugh. Hopefully we won't have to put up with that too long.

I loved the plaid jacket. Different colored fabric would have been better but I liked the lines.

I also like the babydoll that they slammed that poor guy for.

So let's get one thing out of the way right up front. Where? The hell? Did they find? The models? They are TRA. GIC. Tragic. There was one girl who could WALK (the one who wore the black and white dress with blue trim made by that ab-having queen with the busted face) but her face was no good. She kind of scared me. Okay. Just had to get that of my chest.

I was really excited watching this episode. What I was more excited about was the preview for the season that they showed after the show. Seriously, can anyone else not wait for the ab-queen's crying breakdown?? I'm so excited to see what happens. Oooh, and group challenges with type-A personalities! Hooray! Project Runway, you are back in my life. And hopefully you will be so much more fulfilling than stupid ANTM.

So. The hippie lady's cascading water-goddess bullshit...NO. Although, I will give her props for going right backstage and cutting that shit apart. I knew they would keep her. If they kept Vincent after that gawdawful trash dress he made, they'd keep her.

That 21-year-old...excuse my language...piece of shit. I hate him. Yet, he is amazingly entertaining to watch. Conundrum. I don't know what y'all saw when his dress and jacket walked down the runway, but with the exception of that matched seam down the back, I thought that dress was awful. I don't care if he wasn't trying to match the pattern on each side, did you see the sleeves? They were totally different lengths! That is not avant garde. That is horrible craftsmanship. And I love brown clothes. LOVE them. But his brown wasn't appealing to me at all. Ugh. Nothing I hate more than an under-25 year old who feels entitled for no reason. I have totally turned into a crotchety old man the last few years. Thank you, Paris Hilton. You've ruined our world.

Who else? Oh, geez, the costume designer. Did they pick him only so Nina and Michael could say, "It really comes down to his taste-level" all season long? I mean...come one.

Guy with overly-trimmed beard...cute, very cute. Your dress was ATROCIOUS. What was that bad Jetsons thing?

Israeli guy....hot. You and your dress. Even though the dress had that whole poorly-fitted-in-the-right-boob-area thing going so she looked all poochy. But no one said anything. I assume Michael Korange was just blinded by his beauty.

I LOVE the weird preppy guy (Steve) with the squishy face and the flower guy (Marion). I can't remember what they made for the runway, but I don't care. They're adorable and that's really all that matters.

I can't remember anything else...I love the show, but that wasn't exactly a bang to start out on, am I right? I guess we need to learn their personalities a bit more. Let the drama begin!!

Is it wrong that the hippie lady is the only woman I can remember on the show, except for Heidi of course? I am SUCH. A FAG.

All right, as far as the designers, I remember hippie lady, fat gay guy, and the pip-squeak 21 year old...I too am becoming crotchety, since Im not in my 20s anymore.

I remember more of the outfits that the designers.

I noticed in the past few months something had been missing in my life. Something orange and mostly played out. Last night I realized it was Michael Korange. Another season of his catch phrases like: "M.O.B. mother of the bride" and "matchy-matchy." Oh and the uproarious laughter when Hedi says things like "It looked like her dress was pooing fabric".

How does he get so orange? I used to think it was spray on tan, but last night I'm pretty sure I detected some Cheeto dust on his jacket.

So some notes on the designers:

I agree, Geof, Rami is hot. His dress reminded me of very much of a '70s Halston. Since I suffer from Hebrew Fever, I will enjoy watching him, and may even touch myself while doing so. I hope I don't hate him by the third episode. I can be so mercurial.

Christian: At first I was like, is that Lupe Vidal's little sister? Why is she in the boy's room? Oh, it's not Lupe's little sister? Wow. I mean wow. Love how he dropped Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood names. Sorry Christian, that doesn't excuse your hair. I hate his hair. I'm going to cut his hair if ever I see him. No doubt his bitchy commentary will simultaneously amuse me while fanning the flames of my contempt.

Jack: The ab-guy. I too can't wait to see him cry. Geof, that makes us mean! He needs some Sculptra treatments on his busted face. Maybe that's what he starts crying about. I've seen on some blogs where people are already fawning over him. I wonder how many times they're going to show him in just his underwear. We should start a betting pool.

Carmen: a former model. You don't say? Judging by her hair I say she grew up idolizing the Pointer Sisters. Wait; isn't she old enough to be a Pointer Sister? Wasn't Zulema a former model too? Her personality reminds me of Zulema or maybe more like Zulema's alter-ego: Shetenge!

Chris: How sad was it seeing him have to run across the lawn? Thirty minutes later he made it to the tents. They better have a defibrillator charged up and ready to go. It was like watching the portly kid in gym class. It made me sad. I remember seeing his work here in SF. I loved what he did with "Christmas with the Crawfords" at the Castro Theater back in the day. Plus he once dressed up as Mrs. Butterworth-- which was one of the best costumes I'd ever seen in my life. Much quirky designer love goes out to Chris even though his bio portrait makes him look like the love child of a goateed Otho (Glenn Shadix) from "Beetlejuice" and the departed former "Price is Right" announcer Roddy Rod.

Steven: apparently Laura Bennett from Season 3 and Emmett McCarthy from Season 2 got together and had a baby! She's so fertile but who knew Emmett had it in him? I was a little creped out by his video where he was sketching the nude and joked about wishing he had remembered that guys phone number. Steven having sex is something I never want to image. Squishy face. I wonder if he's related to Renee Zellweger?

Kevin: I think is attractive. Of course this doesn't matter. His dress was ugly. I'm glad he told all of America he was straight. However get a few beers into him and... He's sharing a room with a gaggle of gays-- he doesn't stand a chance.

Kit: did y'all know her alias "Kit Pistol" is trademarked? That says it all.

Marion: Who? Were you in the show? Oh you have a flower shop? So does my mom. You two can be friends!

Sweet P: I want to see Mean P! She was part of an all women biker group (gang)? Awesome. I hope she cuts someone. I hope she made Jack cry. There's something about a mid-forties woman all tatted up that makes me super happy.

Victorya: I love tinfoil flowers! They are so not M.O.B. However the spelling of your name is totally M.O.B.-lame.

Ricky: One of 14 kids in a two room house? Aye-aye-aye. Not impressed by his baby doll dress. He bored me.

Jillian: blah. I don't remember her. She said something about working for Ralph Lauren, no? Snooze.

Elisa: She imbued her silk with grass stains. Ok. She's quirky-- I get it. I bet she has a marionette Realdoll type lover. Now that would interest me very much.

And the designer that got cut (to be read in PeeWee Herman's voice) Au Revoir Simone!

Does anyone think Tim's catchphrases are going to be played down this season-- at least by him?

Oh, and how many more sponsors can Project Runway get? Jeebus-- it's turning into that scene from "Wayne's World" with all the product placements and shout outs.

At least Banana Republic is out of the picture. Viva la Bluefly!

Oh, I DO remember that Carmen lady. Every time she was on screen I yelled "KELIS!" really loudly. I mean, seriously...isn't that Kelis's old hair she's wearing?

Where is xnowhereboyx? Between him, me, and Eirikur, no one will get a word in edge-wise on this tribe.

Hallelujah! I don't have BRAVO, and I thought my PR life was over, but HOORAY FOR Bittorrent. I will probably always be late posting every week, but Yay! At least I can be here a bit.

These early eps are hard since there are SO many people to cover. But in general, it seems there are some interesting personalities.

That blue dress was really great without that stupid ass train. And I thought the right person got cut, but I was still sad for her.

I agreed with Nina about that puffy armed jacket. Nice design, nice execution, boring fabric.

I was thinking that big (slow running) guy wouldn't be a good designer. I prejudged. I really liked his look.

There's some talent there. I'm so glad I was rescued by Bittorrent. Hooray for technology! For those who couldn't find that yet, here's the link to the bittorrent file that works:

I was in a hotel room watching Ep 1...under the covers...with a diet coke and a mars bar. It has been months since I've felt so relaxed and happy...I actually laughed and clapped at the end.

Anyway...I thought that Rami's dress looked like a glorified, fancy-fancy TOGA. Sorry girls...didn't feel it at all.

Now. What I did like was little Mr. Rosengard's suit. I thought it was chic and a bit sassy.

I also thought that Kit's offering was quite innovative and signature-ish. Coquettish little Kit.

              Can't wait for next week!

(and btw...Geof...couldn't agree with you more on the assessment of the models. GAH!)

I was in class and had to tape it (yeah, no DVR here) but ... the blue dress? I agree with Heidi - part of the issue may have been the boots too. Going to be fun to watch her throughout the next few episodes - I don't see it being more than that if she keeps with the metaphysical designs.

Yay, after being in Vancouver visiting friends last week I finally caught up with 2 PRs in a row tonight.
I was almost giddy. (I also caught up with Survivor, ANTM, and other shows. My eyes hurt now).

I think this season is going to be fun and bitchy. And a lot of tears will be shed (in fact, have already been shed) by the new Andre clone, whatever his name is . . .

Why does Michael Kors contradict himself constantly?
One person's flower is MOB, but not another?!? wtf.
Referring to things as "Too Costumy" one week, then praising someone for it next?
Turning up his nose at details that are in his own collections?
          Is he not watching himself?

I'm SO ready for Christian to get his!
Carmen's comment "If you haven't Modeled, you don't know Fashion!"??? 'Scuse me?
Poor Ricky's gonna cry in every episode it seems.
Jillian is DANGEROUS. She's silent now, but someone evil is gonna come out.
Eliza is nuts, and owes her neck to Sweet P at this point!

BTW, I had no idea 80s hair was back (Carmen & Christian), is time to fish out my crimper and Sioux-up again or something? I'd rather sleep.
